The 2024 Summer Olympics (Games of the XXXII Olympiad) is an international multi-sport event taking place from 24 July to 11 August 2024 in Paris, France. The Paris Olympics will include a total of 32 sports (including four additional sports, i.e., Breaking, Sport Climbing, Skateboarding and Surfing).

Manu Bhaker becomes first woman shooter to win a medal
- Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, marking her first Olympic medal and the first for an Indian woman shooter.
- Manu Bhaker clinched her second bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh at the Paris Olympics, making history as the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic Games post-Independence.
- She is born in Jhajjar, Haryana.

- At the age of 16, she won gold in the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, her first significant triumph.
- Her big break came in the 10m Air pistol competition at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, becoming the first Indian shooter to win a gold medal.
- She has won numerous medals, including gold for both mixed and individual teams, at ISSF World Cup competitions.
- She received recognition for her achievements with the Arjuna Award in 2020.
Sarabjot Singh wins India’s second Paris Olympics medal with Manu Bhaker
- Indian shooter Sarabjot Singh made history by winning a bronze medal in the 10m pistol mixed event with Manu Bhaker at the Paris Olympics 2024.
- He is born in Haryana’s Ambala.
Historical Achievements Achievements
- Sarabjot Singh entered the senior ranks as a 2019 Junior World Championship gold medalist.
- He secured the Asian Games team gold and mixed team silver in 2023.
- At the 2023 Asian Championships, he also won the individual bronze, which earned him a quota place for the Paris Olympics along the way.
Swapnil Kusale won the third Olympic medal for India.
- Swapnil Kusale won the bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle three positions (with 451.4 points) at the Paris Olympicsshooting competition.
- This was India’s first-ever Olympic shooting medal in this category.
- So far, India has won three medals in rifle shooting. Firstly, Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in men’s 10m air rifle at Beijing in 2008, and secondly, Gagan Narang won bronze in the same event at the London Olympics in 2012.
- Liu Yukun of China won the gold with a total of 463.6. Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish scored 461.3 and claimed the silver medal.
- He was born in Kambalwadi village, Kolhapur.
- Kusale has been working for Central Railways since 2015.
Historical Achievements:
- He clinched the gold medal in the 50m rifle prone three at the 2015 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait and the 59th National Shooting Championship in Tughlakabad.
- He was a three time medallist at the 2023 world cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, winning one gold and two silver medals.
