Chaitra Sukladi:

●  Celebrated in Karnataka as the New Year according to the Hindu lunar calendar.

●  Marks the beginning of Chaitra month and the start of the spring season.

●  People clean their homes, perform rituals, and offer prayers to seek blessings for prosperity and success in the coming year.

Ugadi:

●  Also known as Yugadi, observed as the New Year in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.

●  Signifies the beginning of the lunar calendar month of Chaitra.

●  People decorate their homes, prepare traditional dishes, exchange greetings, and seek divine blessings for a prosperous year ahead.

Gudi Padwa:

●   Celebrated predominantly in Maharashtra as the New Year.

●   Marks the commencement of the Chaitra month.

●    People erect Gudi (decorated poles) outside their homes, wear new clothes, prepare festive meals, and participate in cultural activities and processions.

Cheti Chand:

●    Observed by the Sindhi community as the New Year festival.

●    Honors the birth anniversary of the Sindhi patron saint, Jhulelal.

●  People offer prayers, visit temples, distribute sweets, and engage in charitable activities to commemorate the occasion.

Navreh:

●   Celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits as their New Year.

●   Marks the beginning of the Hindu calendar year in the Kashmir Valley.

●   Families perform rituals, read religious scriptures, prepare traditional feasts, and exchange greetings to welcome the new year with auspiciousness.

Sajibu Cheiraoba:

●   Observed in Manipur as the New Year festival.

●   Celebrated on the first day of the lunar month of Sajibu.

●  People clean their homes, offer prayers at local temples, feast together, and participate in cultural events and traditional sports to usher in the new year.
