Examination Process of MPPSC

Exam Stage Details
Preliminary Examination – Objective type (MCQs)
– Two papers:
1. General Studies (GS) – 200 marks
2. General Aptitude Test (GAT) – 200 marks
– Duration: 2 hours each paper
– No negative marking
– Used as a screening test for the Mains exam
Main Examination – Descriptive type examination
– Total 6 papers:
1. General Studies I – 300 marks
2. General Studies II – 300 marks
3. General Studies III – 300 marks
4. General Studies IV – 200 marks
5. Hindi (Compulsory) – 200 marks
6. Hindi Essay Writing – 100 marks
– Duration: 3 hours for each paper
– Marks considered for final merit
Interview (Personality Test) – Total marks: 175
– Evaluates communication skills, leadership qualities, decision-making ability, and general awareness
– Conducted by a panel of experts
– Marks are added to the final score
Final Selection – Based on the total marks obtained in the Mains exam (1400 marks) and Interview (175 marks)
– A merit list is prepared

Process After Selection in MPPSC

Step Description
Result Declaration – MPPSC publishes the final merit list based on Mains and Interview scores.
– Selected candidates receive an official selection notification.
