1. PM inaugurates first-ever National Training Conclave

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first-ever National Training Conclave in New Delhi.

Issue:

The Prime Minister emphasized the responsibility of all government servants to increase people’s faith in the government system.

Training should nurture the potential of officials and promote a whole-of-government approach.
-
The perception of training institutions as punishment postings is changing.
-
Officials should break the shackles of hierarchy and seek out experienced individuals.
-
Jan Bhagidari (public participation) should be emphasized in training.
-
The iGOT Karmayogi platform has provided equal opportunities for training to all levels of government personnel.

The Karmayogi Mission aims to improve the mindset and approach of government personnel for better governance.

The Prime Minister encouraged participants to provide actionable inputs to improve training infrastructure and suggested regular conclave meetings

2. The Government approves projects to the tune of more than Rs 7,500 Cr. for the development of modern fishing harbours and fish landing centres

The foundation stone for the Modernization and Upgradation of Cochin Fishing Harbour was laid by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala, and Minister of Ports Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal.

The project aims to improve hygienic conditions, increase earnings from fish and fish product exports, and includes the establishment of auction halls, fish dressing and packaging units, internal roads, loading and unloading platforms, offices, dormitories, and a food court.
-
The project also has a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) component of Rs. 55.85 crore, which includes the establishment of cold storages, ice plants, car parking facilities, reverse osmosis plants, food courts, and a retail market.

The government has approved over Rs. 7,500 crore for the development of modern fishing harbours and fish landing centers under various schemes like the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF), Sagarmala, and PMMSY.

3. President of India to grace the PVTG Meet organised by Tribal Affairs Ministry.

President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will host a PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) Meet at the Sports Ground of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Issue:

Members from 75 PVTGs have been invited for an extensive interaction with the President and to learn about the various schemes and initiatives of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
-
The PVTG members will be taken on a guided tour of Amrit Udyan and Rashtrapati Bhawan.
-
Cultural dances representing different tribal groups, such as Mal Pahariya, Siddi, Irula, Sahariya, Baiga Pardhauni, and Budigali, will be performed at the venue.
-
The President will address the gathering of PVTG members and felicitate one male and one female guest from each PVTG community.
-
The PVTG guests will attend a High Tea and Dinner at the Sports Ground of Rashtrapati Bhawan.
-
Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda, Minister of State Tribal Affairs, Smt. Renuka Singh Saruta, Sh. Bishweswar Tudu, and other dignitaries will also be present.

The event aims to familiarize the PVTG communities with the government’s efforts towards their welfare and overall development.

The Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission has been announced in the Budget 2023-24, which aims to provide basic facilities and sustainable livelihood opportunities to PVTG families and habitations with an allocated amount of Rs. 15,000 crore over the next three years.
