2. WAVES | Create in India Challenge Season 1

  • With 69.25 GW capacity and a turnover of ₹13,118.68 crore, SECI advances India’s renewable energy goals.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI):

Headquarters: New Delhi, India

Established: 2011, as a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.

Purpose: Promote and facilitate the development of solar energy projects in India.

Functions:

  • Develop and operate solar power projects.
  • Facilitate project implementation through policy support and financial assistance.

Promote solar energy technology and innovation.

Key Initiatives:

  • Solar park development.
  • Implementation of various solar power schemes.
