1. Vocal For Local movement is getting great momentum across the country: PM

Why Vocal For Local movement?

2. APEDA inks MoU with Lulu Hypermarket for export promotion of Indian agri-products

Context:
- The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has signed an MoU with Lulu Hypermarket LLC to boost exports of agricultural products to Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCCs).
- The MoU aims to promote Brand India globally and was signed at the World India Food (WIF) 2023 in New Delhi.
- APEDA will promote Indian agricultural products, including millets, across the GCC region, leveraging Lulu Group’s extensive presence.
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA):
- It operates under the Ministry of Commerce.
- APEDA’s primary objective is to promote the export of agricultural and processed food products from India to international markets.
- The authority works to ensure the quality and safety of these products, facilitating their compliance with international standards.
- APEDA plays a crucial role in promoting and developing the export potential of various agricultural and food products, including fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy products, spices, and more.
- It engages in market research, product development, and capacity building to enhance the competitiveness of Indian agricultural exports.
- APEDA also fosters partnerships and collaborations with organizations and retailers, both domestically and internationally, to promote Indian agricultural products on the global stage.
