1. Achievements of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region – 2023.

- Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East (PM-DevINE): A central sector scheme with 100% central funding, focusing on infrastructure, social development, livelihood activities, and filling development gaps.
- Expenditure under 10% Gross Budgetary Support: Ensured that non-exempted Central Ministries/Departments spend at least 10% of their Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) for North Eastern Region (NER).
- Data Analytics Dashboard: Launched on 12th October 2023, providing data on 112 schemes across 55 Departments and Ministries for data-driven decision-making and centralized monitoring.
- Agartala-Akhaura Rail Link Project: Inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi and PM Sheikh Hasina on 1st November 2023, fostering strong bilateral ties and improving regional connectivity.
- 5G Use Cases: Launched 5G applications in collaboration with AMTRON, focusing on healthcare, agriculture, edge computing, and 5G labs, employing AI and IoT.
- Improved Startup Ecosystem: Established North East Venture Fund (NEVF) supporting 67 startups with an infusion of ₹17 crore, transforming the entrepreneurial landscape.
- North East Bankers’ Conclave 2023: Bringing together stakeholders to address challenges in the banking sector in North-East India.
- Task Force for Development of Tourism: Constituted on October 2023 to develop strategies and action plans for sustainable tourism in NER.
- Inter-Ministerial Task Force for Agriculture: Recommendations made to steer the growth of the agriculture sector in NER.
- Signing of MoUs: MoUs signed with UNDP for technical support on SDGs and with NEHHDC for bilateral exchange and promotion of handicrafts.
- Advancing North East Portal: Launched to provide knowledge and guidance in the categories of education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
- Facilitating Trade with NER: Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) constituted to enhance foreign trade, addressing bottlenecks hindering trade and transit.
- Design Labs for Livelihood Generation: Digital Design Labs set up in Mao, Manipur, and Shillong, Meghalaya, aiming to train local youth in digital skills for gainful employment.
