• The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India has organized 1176 exposure visits for students across the country.
• These exposure visits are part of the “Learning Science via Standards” initiative and aim to contribute to India’s mission of building a quality-conscious nation.

About Bureau of Indian Standards:

• The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the national standards body of India.
• It is a statutory body under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India.
• BIS is responsible for the formulation and implementation of national standards for products, processes and services.
• It also provides certification services to ensure that products and services meet the relevant standards.
• BIS has over 20,000 standards in various fields, including engineering, chemicals, food, textiles, electronics and information technology.
• BIS also operates a number of schemes, such as the ISI mark scheme, to promote the use of quality products and services.
• BIS plays a vital role in the development of Indian industry and economy.
