1.India and UAE aspire to expand bilateral trade to US$ 100 Billion: Sh. Piyush Goyal

2. Year End Review 2023: Ministry of Tribal Affairs

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs prioritized tribal welfare, increasing the budget by 70.69%. Key initiatives include PM-JANMAN, National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission, scholarships, land rights distribution, and cultural showcases. Administrative efforts, cleanliness campaigns, and educational advancements were also highlighted.

 Budget and Financial Allocations:

• Budget for Ministry of Tribal Affairs increased by 70.69% to Rs. 12,461.88 crore in FY 2023-24.
• Allocation of Rs. 1,17,943.73 crore for the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST) for FY 2023-24.

Policy Initiatives and Programs:

• Launch of Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission and National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission.
• Introduction of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) with a budget of Rs. 24,000 crores.
• Inauguration of Aadi Mahotsav, a national tribal festival, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools in various states.
• Pan-India celebrations for Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas on the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Education and Scholarships:

• Recruitment of over 38,000 teachers and support staff for Ekalavya Model Residential Schools.
• Disbursement of scholarships to 32.22 lakh tribal students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
• Inauguration of Eklavya Model Residential Schools and educational tours for EMRS students.

Land Rights and Forest Rights Act:

• Distribution of 23.43 lakh land titles totaling over 1.8 crore acres under the Forest Rights Act.
• Efforts to protect and empower Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) through special initiatives.

International Collaborations and Showcases:

• Collaboration with Amazon India for the ‘Amazon Future Engineer Programme’ in EMRSs.
• Recognition of tribal heritage and craftsmanship at the G20 Summit with a focus on quality education in Eklavya Model Residential Schools.
